ICOST2006 will be held in the Stuart Suite of the Culloden Hotel. We would encourage delegates to attend the Sunday Night Welcoming Reception, which will take place between 5pm and 7pm at the Conference Venue on Sunday, 25th June 2006. This will give delegates a chance to register and receive their Welcome Packs.

For those unable to attend Registration on Sunday evening, there will be an opportunity to register between 08.00 and 08.45 each morning of the Conference. |

| Getting to Belfast and the Culloden Hotel |
By Air: |
There are 2 main Airports in Northern Ireland, Belfast International Airport and George Best Belfast City Airport. Transport information is provided below on commuting from the airports. Belfast International Airport is approximately 20miles from the Culloden Hotel by taxi. There is a connecting bus service and taxi services available from the airport to the City centre (18miles). The Airbus service operates between the airport and Belfast city centre, stopping at the Europa Bus Centre, every 30 minutes, Monday to Saturday, and at 30 or 60 minute intervals on a Sunday. This service operates between 05.45 hrs and 23.20, and should cost £6.00 Single, or £9.00 Return.
There are Taxi Ranks at the Departure Gate of Belfast International Airport. Typical prices are as follows (these will depend on time of day, traffic etc.) –
Belfast International Airport > Culloden Hotel Under £30
> Stormont Hotel £25
> Belfast City Centre £20
George Best - Belfast City Airport is approximately 5 miles from the Culloden Hotel and 5 miles from the City Centre. To travel to the City Centre there is a twice hourly rail service (06.00-18.00) Monday-Friday to Central and Victoria Street Stations in the City Centre. The service is hourly after 18.00. There is a direct bus link from the Airport terminal to Belfast Europa Bus Centre adjacent to the Europa Hotel every 30 minutes.

Bus: We are offering a Complimentary Bus Service from designated Pick-Up / Drop-Off points. The timetable of this service can be seen below. This timetable is subject to minor change. A finalised timetable will be included in the Delegates’ Welcome Packs.

By Rail: |
There is a rail service between Belfast City Centre and Bangor that stops at Cultra Rail Station, which is a 5 minute walk from the Culloden Hotel. This is a regular service (Service #1), which runs on average every 30 minutes. The timetable can be found on the Translink website –

ICOST2006 Social Events
There will be several Social Events taking place at ICOST2006. There will be a Drinks Reception and light finger buffet during the Sunday Night Welcoming Reception, which will also give delegates a chance to Register and pick up their Delegate Pack. This will run from 5pm until 7pm on Sunday 25 th June. We would encourage all delegates to attend this event, even those who have not indicated so on their Registration Forms.
On Monday 26 th June, there will be an informal BBQ at the Cultra Inn, which is situated on the grounds of the Culloden Hotel. Beverage producer Diageo have sponsored this event and have supplied a limited quantity of Guinness Stout and Sparkling Wine.
The Conference Gala Dinner will be held at Belfast Castle, situated on the picturesque slopes of Cave Hill Mountain overlooking Belfast Lough and the greater Belfast area, on Tuesday 27 th June. (Dress Code – Smart Casual)
The Complimentary bus service includes transport for the Social Events, including time to go back to your hotel on Tuesday between the end of the day’s presentations and the Gala Dinner. If you do not wish to attend any of the Social Events, a bus will run after the day’s presentations back to the designated Drop-Off points.
If you have not registered for any of the ICOST2006 Social Events, you can check with us when you register during the Sunday Night Welcoming Reception if we have any availability on the events.
